One of the best -if not the best- in terms of atmosphere, horror games, for the PC platform. This game is intuitive in each and every aspect. Even the amazing -motion control/mouse gesture enabled- system that’s in the game shines. You do every move with mouse gestures that take into account the great physics engine. I’vve been following these guys from the penumbra tech demo and they sure have gone a long way. They do love Cthulhu and the whole H.P.Lovecraft Mythos/setting, that’s for sure and they do a fantastic job of integrating these elements in their game. Most of the time, while you play, you’ll find yourself anticipating with short breath and heartbeat the next big scare…only this game is playing you, so the game throws scares at you when you least expect it! The technical part is awesome. Shadows, texures, sound engine and animation all at their best for a small team game, that could easily go against big funded studios. Everyone has to try this game, wethere they love adventures, dungeon crawlers, action games, puzzlers or are just here for a good scare!

Amnesia: The Dark Decent is a great follow up from the in-depth Penumbra series. Being put in the shoes of Daniel, and having to share an element of fear with him gives you the feeling that you are there the entire journey. The demo seems to pull you in from the start, being dragged through the corridors of the castle, losing conscience occasionally. Collecting thoughts throughout the game gives you a sense of comfort, but knowing Daniel is talking to his former self makes the comfort confusing, and a whole lot less comforting. It seems as if this game dangles comfort in front of you, then pulls it back as soon as you reach for it, giving the player the best horror experience any game has to offer. The fear element that causes loss in sanity combined with actual events in the storyline that give you yourself actual fear seem to make this game the scariest, most frightening game ever.

One of the best action-adventure style game in my opinion. I played the demo, and now I don’t know how can I stand not to continue the story, what ended of course at the most thrilling part in the demo. If you like the horror, this game is a must have for you, cause it keeps the fear in you in every seconds while you are walking and doing your job at those dark, frightful places. I think there is no need to write more about this game. I am sure you will be fully statisfied when you reach the end of the (full) game, at least you will be afraid of going your bed at night. Haha. No. I am not joking. Just… try Amnesia: The Dark Decent! Be the fear with you! 😉
