CHAO WORLD 2 - LEARN TO FLY

INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL

Welcome to Chao World 2 - Learn To Fly, my new 2D platform game made with Game Maker 5.3. In this game you'll take the control of Cheese, the famous chao who appeared in most Sega Games (Sonic Advance 2, Sonic Advance 3, Sonic Heroes...) in his new big  adventure through 18 huge levels, versus bosses, special stages, more and more!

In the zip file you have downloaded there are 3 files: the game, this manual and a file named "kids". The first thing you need to do is to insert this text file in your fonts folder of Windows. Now you can launch the game by clicking 2 times on the game icon! Below there are the reccomended system requirement:

The first time you'll launch the game, you'll be in front of the scrren where you can save/load your game, exit the game, or, if is your first time, continue to title. At the title press ENTER to start!

ADVENTURE MODE: the main mode of Chao World 2.

CHAO PARTY: there are 6 secret extra modes to unlock!

SAVE&LOAD: clicking here to jump on the save & load screen to save or load your game! 

EXIT THE GAME: exit Chao World 2!

By clicking on the adventure mode, this screen will appear, analyse it:

Every time you'll unlock a stage, this will be selectable in this screen. Clicking on the level you want to play to start to play! On the right section of the screen, there are some black icons. Every time you'll get an IRIS CRYSTAL or LOST CHAO (this option will be able after clear the main game with all IRIS CRYSTALS!) that black icon change! To complete the game you'll need to unlock everything!

By clicking on the chao party mode, this screen will appear, analyse it:

Every time you complete a special mission, (these will be available after clear the game with all IRIS CRYSTALS) you'll unlock one of this 6 special extras. Try to finish all of them!

Now let's go to analyse the game screen:

TRIES: number of lives you have. When you'll reach 0 you'll lose!

LIFE: this is the health of Cheese. When you'll reach 0 hearts you'll lose a trie!

STARS: every 100 stars you'll get a trie!

POINTS: classical score. 

TIME: number of chao seconds remain to complete the level. If the chao time gets over, you'll lose a trie! Calm down! 1 chao seconds equivals to 3/4 normal seconds, so you have accross 6 minuts to finish the level!

FRUITS: show how many and type of chao fruits you have. You using the fruit with the yellow cursor around it. To swap the fruits press SPACE on your keyboard!

MEDALS: in every level there is a special medal to collect (see "ITEMS") this part of the display shows how medals you have.

KEY: to exit every level, you'll need the key hidden in it. This part of the display shows if you have the key!

Here are the game controls!

RIGHT ARROW: move Cheese to right

LEFT ARROW: move Cheese to left!

UP ARROW: use in front of a casket to open it. Use in front of a net to climb it! Use in front of a door to enter it!

Z KEY: jump!

X KEY: shoot the fruit you have selected!

SPACE BAR: press to swap the fruits you have! The yellow cursor show the fruit you'll use!

Other Keys:

During game press one of these keys to...

Q KEY: press to quit the game. You will be redirected to Save And Load screen.

R KEY: press to restart the current level. You will lose a trie!

P KEY: pause the game

In some screens the Other Keys don't work. It's normal! Try in the next screen!

STARS: get 100 stars to get a trie.

DIAMONDS: get them to increase you score.

FRUITS: there are 3 types of fruits: NORMAL FRUITS can break wood boxes, FIRE FRUITS can melt the ice, and set fire to wood boxes, ICE FRUITS, can froze the wood boxes or extinguish the fire. All these fruits can to kill enemyes!

CHAO BOMBS: CHAO BOMBS can destroy rocks!

BLUE CASKETS: the blue caskets contains KEY, FRUITS, STARS. You don't need the key to open its!

RED CASKETS: to open the red caskets you'll need a key. This caskets contains MEDALS (see up), or TRIES!

BAG OF FRUITS: one bag contains 10 fruits.

BAG OF STARS: one bag contains 10 stars!

To every world is associated an IRIS CRYSTAL. You can reach it by collect all the 3 medals hidden in each world (one per level). After the boss attack you can use a special cannon to get the spacial stage. In this stage you'll need to get 500 spheres points and to explode 20 balloons with the fruits!

This is the special stage game screen:

FRUITS: this is the total number of the fruits you get. You'll need them to explode the balloons!

SPHERES: this is your spheres score. There are 3 types of spheres: RED SPHERES = 5 POINTS, BLUE SPHERES = 3 POINTS, GREEN SPHERES = 1 POINT.

BALLOONS: this is the number of balloons you have exploded.

AIR MINES: you need to evitate these mines or you'll lose 10 spheres points!

The game will end if the number of tries get zero. Every time you want to save your game progression go to SAVE&LOAD menu! Remember to save before leave the game!
