Like Clockwork is a short (40 min.) comedy RPG. The adventure begins in a traditional JRPG world, though your new companion Tam McGleish (an angry Scottish Detective Inspector) soon changes that. This game was made by John Roberts for the Fuck this Jam 2014 (a competition where developers had to make a game in a genre they hate).
This classic FREE point & click adventure game tells a story of a homeless man who communicates with the world using an old sock on his right hand. He’s a huge football fan and plays it a lot near his backalley. One day he gets mugged by a wandering bully and looses his precious ball in the process. Now he must pull himself together, team up with a local superhero, find a new ball and confront his oppressor again.
Somewhere along the east coast of Africa, pirates have attacked a luxury yacht! They have taken a few seemingly wealthy passengers as their hostages, a family and an old man, hoping to collect a hefty ransom for each of them. When the hostage negotiations go awry, the rescue duties land on the weak shoulders of an unlikely hero. Little does he know that the ship’s crew, that stands in his way, is composed of some very weird and silly individuals.

The opening screen and the first few levels are quite cheerful and colorful, but the environment becomes gradually more deranged and disturbing as the player progresses into other levels of eversion. The game was inspired by a quotation from H. P. Lovecraft and it features a warning on the intro screen that it is “not intended for children or those of a nervous disposition”.
