I really liked AoE, after playing the demo i remember i rushed the store to get the full version.. was really a brilliant game with an amazing graphic for those times.. now they are going to repropose the core game with a cartoonish graphic, completely online and free to play..

Battlefront.com and Atomicboy Software proudly present the public beta demo of EMPIRES OF STEEL! This beta demo is completely free to download and play. It will allow you to explore and test many of the unique features EoS has to offer first hand. While there are some limitations in place, the beta demo does allow for largely unrestricted multiplayer games (up to 8 players) on a special DemoMap, and does allow peeks at some of the advanced game features such as the full featured map and unit set editor, the in-game mod and scenario sharing system, the built-in game updater and much more.

City Empires is a free web based city/empire simulator.
The year was 2016 when modern civilization was destroyed. The war that was begun by politicians was finished by thousands of mushroom clouds. Governments persisted for a short while, protected by their underground bunkers. But the infrastructure that had sustained them was gone, and the last bastions of humanity collapsed upon themselves. What few survivors that remained were isolated and struggled to exist.
Untold years passed, and isolated peoples gathered into villages and then communities. You have been tasked to lead your community into this new era. There have been stories told of other villages who also struggle to survive. Some are friendly, while others are less than civilized. The choices you make will determine the fate of your village… your city… your empire.
