You probably already know… Lately there are a lot of sequel of classic games in the works.. here they are..

Elite: Dangerous – sequel of Elite

WasteLand 2 – sequel of WasteLand (predecessor to the Fallout Series)

Torment Tides of Numenera (announced) – Unofficial sequel of Planescape Torment Same developers, different world and obviously no AD&D license. (Actually tbh i doubt if this is a videogame or a boardgame.. or both )

Star Citizen – Chris Robert’s Wing Commander, a new space game.

Double Fine Adventure – Tim Schafer (Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango). When Tim succeeded in getting funded on KickStarter he basically opened the way for others big veteran developers to try to get funded from fans as well. It’s also worth mentioning Psychonauts – i ve always heard great comments about this game but never played it.

Broken Sword – the Serpent’s Curse Adventure (or Broken Sword 5) – A new, original, Broken Sword game by Charles Cecil. Revolution software is back on track.. and this time they have the freedom a publisher could deny. Also Beneath a Steel Sky 2 is planned despite it couldn’t get the necessary funds.

Planetary Annihilation – sequel of Total Annihilation

Shadowrun Returns -sequel of… ye u guessed it.

Project Eternity – Baldur’s Gate or Icewind Dale game-like.

New 1000 AD is a free online multiplayer turn based strategy war game based on civilizations of medieval times. The object of the game is to get the most land, research and points to be at the top of the leaderboard. You can win two ways by attacking your opponents into submission or exploring past them. You can build alliances, declare wars, produce an economy based around wood, iron, food and gold. Build your army to attack friends or send your explorers on missions to gain land. Production of goods, buildings and army are the keys to being the best and top ranked empire. Control your population, aid your friends goods in time of need, defence of your empire and control of the trade market are all part of the quest to conquer the game.

There are 2 types of games to play at New 1000 A.D. The Standard is a 28 day round with turns coming every 9 minutes and Blitz is a 21 day round with turns coming every 3 minutes. The civilizations you have to choose from are the Vikings, Byzantines, Chinese, Japanese, Zulu, Barbarians, Incas, Franks, Turks or the Mongols. Each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

Battlefield 2 re-imagined with Frostbite 2 physics, destruction and visuals.

Among the net here the speculations:

1 – Homeworld 3
2 – Dawn of War 3 (or another wh40k based project)
3 – Comapny of Heroes 2
4 – WarHammer Fantasy Battles
5 – A completely new IP
