Black Mesa

Black Mesa is a FREE and complete re-creation of the game Half-Life, utilizing the Source engine. Black Mesa will let you re-visit the world that started the Half-Life continuum.

Black Mesa will require the Source SDK Base 2007 to run. Many Source games purchasable through Steam come with the Shared Resources, including the SDK, that you will need in order to run Black Mesa. To see if you can run Black Mesa, open Steam and look in the tools tab. If you see an entry titled Source SDK Base 2007, you can run Black Mesa. As of July, 2011, Valve made the Source SDK free for anyone to download. This means that users who create new Steam accounts will be able to play Black Mesa without having to purchase any games.

Discover Ennio Morricone!

The Smokin’ Guns game started its life under the name of Western Quake³. It was originally developed by a team known as Iron Claw Interactive. They released WQ3 beta 2.0 in 2003, after which development all but ceased. In May 2005, development of Western Quake³ was taken over of by a bunch of cowboys calling themselves The Smokin’ Guns with the blessings of the former team. With the release of the stand alone version in 2008, the game was renamed to Smokin’ Guns, and the team to Smokin’ Guns Productions. Smokin’ Guns is intended to be a semi-realistic simulation of the “Old West’s” great atmosphere & was developed on Id Software’s Quake III Arena Engine. Downloads: Windows only or Windows and Linux Macintosh (not available at the moment) Note Mac Users: The game (should) run fine with CrossOver
