RTS WARS

posted in NEWS, VIDEO | Leave a Comment

Lately a lot of FPS have sold good, but what about the rts genre? Here is some good example of what is coming out or already out. What can i say about this? Dow2 at first glance looks like a company of heroes mod, which is good, i think it will be a nice game to waste time in multiplayer online, Red Alert 3 has only the name of Red Alert, the package is great if u are 12 years old. I don ‘t think i ‘ll play halo wars, i mean u must be masochistic to play an rts with a joypad on a console, the last empire total war, i was always a great fan of the series since Shogun total war came out, gunpowder and Sea Battles will sure adds some spice to the game… And you? Do you know of some good RTS out there?

A comment about recent released freegames (ad-supported)

Recently have been released as free ad-supported this (old) games, i added them in the archive..

The Suffering

Full Spectrum Warrior

Rise and Fall

Area 51

I read some of the comments around the web, and some comments around this website too, and i saw some gamers had some problems with this softwares, one in particular said he had a problem with ‘Softwrap’… After some googling investigation, i found out this (should) be an anti-piracy (copy protection) system, which if you ask me is quite absurd to put such a thing in a free game don’t you think? Can’t they put a simple banner without forcing us to install adware, drm, copy protection or other crap in our computers? I am not a programmer so i really can’t say how things works.

But i can give some suggestions and here we go:

1-NEVER install free or commercial games on your work pc, they contains (most of them) hidden stuff and invasive copy protections.

2-Playing safe is easy, just do another partition in your hard-drive, install your (windows xp, linux, react os) and you have 2 working OS, the one where you can play craps or surf not-thrusted site and the other for normal use. If something screw up your OS, u can easily format and re-install.

3-Boot and load your os from a USB pen, you can do it with linux and others OS, not sure if this is available with windows xp too (but it should be).

4-You could also use Virtual Machine, just to check if the installation contains malware, before installing in the real computer. (sometimes when i have suspects i do this way)

If you have guides or suggestions.. comments are below.

ARMA WarFare

ArmA Warfare is a blend of a team-based multiplayer mission and realtime strategy included as a free update in the latest patch for ArmA Armed Assault / ArmA Combat Operations / ArmA Gold Edition.

Two sides fight for control of the entire 40 sq km map in titanic battles over air land and sea. Players must capture whole cities to gain resources that can be channelled into manufacturing even more weapons of war.

Each side has one commander, who can build factories and defensive structures in and around their base. As long as they have enough money and resources, players can use these factories to build units, weapons and vehicles. Defensive structures can be used to defend bases and the units stationed there.

Players must take account of logistical considerations outside their bases and cities too as truck convoys ferrying supplies between settlements are vulnerable to attack.

Players on each side are divided into a maximum of 16 teams. The commander can give these teams side missions and specify tasks or objectives, coordinating the entire side to ensure victory.
