Steam and Itch.io removed many Adult Games

(this is from Galaxy Girls game it was not banned just used for the news)

Steam and Itch.io both removed or hid many adult games after pressure from payment companies. A group called Collective Shout criticized them for hosting games with sexual disturbing themes. To keep their payment systems working, Steam banned certain content, while Itch.io “deindexed” adult games making them invisible in searches and started a full review of its content.

Many creators and players are upset, saying it hurts artistic freedom and punishes indie developers unfairly. Some support the move, especially those concerned about games with disgusting themes. The biggest concern is from how sudden and unclear the changes were, with little warning or transparency.

It’s a clash between creative expression and payment processor rules.

My opinion: I won’t deny some of the games removed were really disgusting, and it is better they are gone. In the end is all about money and these stores runs for profit, plus there isn ‘t much choice for payment companies, also it is the right of those companies to do as they want. This set a dangerous precedent by the way, beacouse in the future it will happen to other games, things too on those stores.

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

I don’t know if this quote applies to some of these (let’s be honest shit games) but it is perfect to define democracy.

Anyway here are some links (warning some are disturbing games)
