Adarna is a short turn-based RPG-educational game that is loosely based on the 17th century story written by José de la Cruz, Adarna follows the journey of Prince Juan and his two older brothers, Princes Pedro and Diego. The King of Berbanya has fallen sick and the only cure for his disease is a song from the legendary Adarna Bird. One by one, the older brothers set off in search for the creature but the years pass by without them returning. Juan then decides to take matters into his own hands and convinces his parents — afraid for their remaining son — to let him go on the same quest.

This is the story of the Norwegian explorer Johan Adrian Jacobsen. From 1881 to 1883 he travelled along the northwestern coasts of the Americas. Commissioned by a support comitee, he purchased and catalogued an immense number of artefacts and objects from local tribes for the German Humboldt Foundation. Totem’s Sound is based on his personal accounts.
Well, almost.
Enjoy a day of Johan’s journey, featuring great outdoor activities such as canoe races, collecting clams, not getting eaten by a giant grizzley and of course fish oil binge drinking. Get in contact with the local tribes, that are struggling to preserve their ways of life and their cultures in a rapidly changing world.

This game was created in collaboration with an Italian association and is part of a project for schools to teach children the importance of respect for animals. The interface is in the classic “Sierra style”, with the pop-up inventory in the middle of the screen and the icon bar with the basic interaction: talk, interact and look on the top. The game is available in english, italian and french language.
