Dual GPU LossLess Scaling Increase Frames per Second

posted in NEWS, VIDEO | Leave a Comment

Note:didn’t tested this myself i have no idea if it works and if it is worth it.

Dual GPU lossless scaling is a technique that utilizes two graphics cards in a single system to enhance frame generation and scaling without compromising image quality. This method allows a secondary GPU (or a APU, iGPU) to assist in rendering frames, improving performance in games and applications that support it.

Lossless Scaling, a tool available on Steam, enables this setup by leveraging a second GPU to generate additional frames, effectively increasing FPS while maintaining visual fidelity. Users have reported that this approach works best in modern titles, where the secondary GPU can handle frame generation without affecting the primary GPU’s rendering performance.

FramePack AI Video Generation

FramePack is a next-frame (next-frame-section) prediction neural network structure that generates videos progressively. FramePack compresses input contexts to a constant length so that the generation workload is invariant to video length. FramePack can process a very large number of frames with 13B models even on laptop GPUs. FramePack can be trained with a much larger batch size, similar to the batch size for image diffusion training.

To generate 1-minute video (60 seconds) at 30fps (1800 frames) using 13B model, the minimal required GPU memory is 6GB. (Yes 6 GB, not a typo. Laptop GPUs are okay.)

Lossless Scaling adds AFG – Adaptive Frame Generation

posted in NEWS | Leave a Comment

This app is not free! But i thought it was worth a mention.

The latest feature allows you to use Lossless Scaling to generate additional frames in games that do not have such support, including emulators.

Lossless Scaling is also useful for upscaling modern games if you cannot run them at native screen resolution (GPU limited) and want to get rid of blur due to bilinear scaling of the GPU driver, as well as for upscaling older and pixel-art games which do not support modern screen resolutions or full screen mode.

For modern games it is best to use LS1 or AMD FSR. For scaling pixel-art games, use Integer Scaling or xBR. Anime4K is best suited for cartoons or anime.
