Enhanced Splinter Cell is a major patch for the original Splinter Cell, fixing bugs and adding gameplay improvements.
The Enhanced Splinter Cell patch is a fan-made overhaul that breathes new life into the original 2002 classic. It introduces a wide range of improvements, including:
- Restored Xbox lighting and textures, making the visuals richer and more atmospheric—especially in low-light stealth scenarios.
- Gameplay tweaks like tapping a key to open the inventory (instead of holding it), toggling the HUD, and using the crouch key to drop from ledges—features inspired by later Splinter Cell titles.
- Two previously cut missions—Nuclear Power Plant and Severonickel—have been added back in, along with new cutscenes to enhance storytelling.
- Modern system support, including widescreen fixes, a 60 FPS cap, and restored Shadow Buffer rendering via dgVoodoo2.
- Quality-of-life upgrades like customizable movement speed at game start and full controller support once in-game.
- PlayStation 3 HD Textures for Enhanced SC, Enhanced SC includes an improved character texture package that replaces the original PS3.
