SUPER ZSNES

The two original developers of ZSNES are finally back together! Introducing SUPER ZSNES! Re-written completely from scratch, this GPU-powered SNES emulator is here to bring you the following (old and new):

  • Accurate CPU & Audio cores — far more precise than the original ZSNES.
  • GPU‑powered PPU — enables hi‑res Mode 7, better effects, and per‑game enhancements.
  • Super Enhancement Engine — manual high‑res redrawing, texture mapping, widescreen, overclocking, and even 3D height‑mapped Mode 7.
  • Classic UI modernized — keeps the iconic falling‑snow interface but in higher definition.
  • High‑resolution redraws — not simple upscaling; graphics are manually redrawn for clarity.
  • Texture & normal maps — adds detail to backgrounds.
  • Widescreen support — enabled when games internally support it; can be overridden per‑game.
  • Overclocking — reduces slowdown in select titles.
  • 3D Mode 7 — perspective‑style Mode 7 scenes get 3D height‑mapped tiles.
  • DSP1 & MSU1 improvements — DSP1 ROM support, MSU1 fixes, and improved timing.
  • Bug fixes & accuracy upgrades — sprite priority fixes, OAM mid‑screen support, window bug fixes, etc.
  • Per‑game configuration — override widescreen, aspect ratio, and compatibility modes.
  • Fast forward & rewind
  • Save states, auto‑save history, bookmarks
  • Cheat codes & quick load
  • Gamepad improvements — generic USB HID joystick support.
  • Special chip emulation (SuperFX, etc.)
  • Netplay
  • RetroAchievements
  • More enhancement packs & optimizations

DosBox-X

From the Author Site:

DOSBox-X is an open-source DOS emulator for running DOS applications and games.

DOS-based Windows such as Windows 3.x and Windows 9x are officially supported.

Compared to DOSBox, DOSBox-X is much more flexible and provides more features.

Look at the DOSBox-X Wiki for more information about DOSBox-X and usage guides.

We also hope that DOSBox-X (along with DOSLIB) can aid in new DOS development.
