Farewell BattleStar Galactica

posted in NEWS, VIDEO | Posted by Angelinux

Ok this is not related at all with videogames, i was wondering if there is some viewers who watched and liked the (Reinvented) BattleStar Galactica show. The Gran Finale of 4 seasons is almost here, this show had a great kick-off with movie pilot and season 1, then a good season 2, an average season 3, another movie and then the final season 4 splitted in two parts.. By my point of view this was one of the best science fiction show, even if it went too much drama and the story went (in my opinion) in the wrong direction.. Great actors, nice fx and story, this was a good one.

I am gonna miss this show but sometimes best things have to come to end so new story content can be told.

Sadly they are brining out the Caprica series and TBH what is shown of it so far does not appeal to me, it does not mean I will not give a try though.

RIP BG and thanks for the fish !!.

  2. I will give a try to Caprica me too, before judging but i think there have could been a better way to continue the saga…

I liked the show too, it reminded me another good one I watched when I was a kid, i think it was called “Space, space and beyond”.

Season 3 got me bored, and overall too much religious references that for me, as agnostic, are just really annoying.

Great special effects, no sound in space at last (at least not a lot of sound), but still fire and smoke… Well maybe for the next sci-fi series they will pay a real astrophysician 🙂

Still got episodes 19 and 20 to watch from season 4, I just hope the end was worth the hours spent in front of the TV !

    Great blog btw…

“Space – above and beyond” was the name 🙂

  5. At Ithorn: You are a fan of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy? 😆

At Ezzekhiel: Thanks. The sound was louder when camera get close to explosion, it makes sense to me, after all there should have been some air in the fighters cockpit.

Space – above and beyond seems like HALO!!!! 😆

Nice vid, HALO costume for the win… Could maybe replace my first pick for disguised parties, the storm trooper costume :p

BS:G was an excellent show back when it was first created, this remake was an awful destruction of what the show once was.

    Acting? Horrible. Plot? Horrible.

How so many people could bear to watch this catastrophe is beyond me.

CYLONS ARE ROBOTS, NOT HUMAN LOOKING ANDROIDS, and that was only the first step towards the utter failure this show was..

  8. The Centurions are robots in this one too, the Humanoids are ‘advanced’ cylons. Well i agree on the story, after an initial great start, the plot went on a bad track.

The final episode has many flaws, i am not spoiling anything, but it really was ‘illogic’ and simplicistic and probably ‘wrong’ in many parts. I forgive just beacouse i understand they had a limited budget, and had a lot of problems while writing the story board, and clearly the show (my opinion) was initially setted up for more than just 4 seasons. The acting was ok, with many great actors, for example Gaius Balthar (James Callis) could have been his own mini-series lol

Even with many flaws, i can affirm that this was one of the best if not the best science fiction serie i have seen in a long time, even ST Voyager compared with BSG is not that great.

I just wanted to say i am happy they did this show and that i watched it, even with problems it had.
